Post subject: LOMO DF-1
My recent request for additional option information for the
DF-1
was followed by a phone call by a LOMO representative. He suggested upgrading to
OI-35 Kohler Illumination
accessory if I had already properly aligned the present system and was not satisfied with the results, but would accept return of the DF-1 if that was my decision.
Thank you. That's good customer service.
I decided to keep the DF-1 because I know the quality that goes into
LOMO products
, and I trust the advice I receive. After another re-alignment, placement of the DF-1 with
immersion oil
, and a drop of live blood on a
slide
with
cover glass
, I was amazed with the results!
With the 40x objective things lit up like a christmas tree with clarity and depth I never expected. For most amateurs this would be enough, but not for me. I like to make videos of my observations, and the low light level does not allow for quality video......so, I just sent in my order for the Kohler OI-35 from OpticsPlanet.com, where I originally purchased the microscope.
Thanks again for the great service.
